A year of baby in vintage Glasgow…

So, back in February…I went from being a pregnant Gramophone DJ at Jenny’s gorgeous wedding

To being a proud fulltime mama to this gorgeous little cheeky treasure…

His name is Rubin.

So in what has been 8 months filled with baby, baby, baby… I thought I would share the more “vintage tinged” baby moments amongst these…

Learn to Sew Children’s Wear at The Stitchery Studio

Last winter, I attended this class and LOVED it!  Students learnt to make this vintage inspired reversible baby doll dress designed by Cassandra Belanger, founder of The Stitchery and a former Butler & Taylor bride!  Weirdly I asked Cass if I could make some trousers instead in case I had a boy… luckily she let me – I must have known somehow that Rubin was on his way!

Recently I attended The Knitting Workshop at The Stitchery… this mama is getting all crafty!  And you can find more info on what workshops are coming up at The Stitchery, including both that I attended, here

In case you aren’t the crafty type – but still have a penchant for a little vintage piece, then this store is WELL worth the visit…

Rowdy Roddy Vintage in De Courcy’s Arcade off Cresswell Lane

I met Jolyne, the owner of Rowdy Roddy Vintage through a mutual friend and I have to say, she is one woman with some amazing taste!   Her wee store is filled to the brim with vintage baby delights and when I say vintage I MEAN vintage.  Much like Butler & Taylor, she prides herself in the REAL deal – minimal stock of vintage replica.  However, she beautifully peppers her stock with some stylish local designers and fun baby gifts to compliment the vintage thing – all which makes it a well worth visit.  I’ve been a handful of times already… purchases include this tasty duo. And for those of you inspired by Jenny’s last blog and looking for vintage flower girl, page boy, baby wedding guest and outfits – then look no further than Rowdy Roddy Vintage

One of my first purchases from Rowdy Roddy Vintage took place at Granny would be Proud’s – “Mamas and Babas” kids Fair.

A total mix of handmade, retro, unique, vintage baby and kids finds from Glasgow indie stalls – there have so far been two – keep an eye on Granny Proud’s facebook for the next ones coming up.

Butler & Taylor has also gotten all child friendly with our expansion of our vintage kids and games package.

We have a perfect mix of vintage games and toys to keep those fidgety hands busy at weddings and parties available for hire.  We’ve loved collecting for this package a lot, so get in touch with us or keep your eyes peeled on our facebook for more information!

Am much enjoying being vintage mamas, so any more Glasgow vintage kids recommendations are welcome below!
